Article 13 of Municipality Law

1- If a member's seat becomes vacant, the Council shall announce this at its first sitting after the vacancy occurs. This seat shall be filled in the manner prescribed for filling it. Elections or appointment, as the case may be, shall take place within thirty days from the date of announcement of that vacancy. The new member shall complete his predecessor's term. Vacant seats shall not be filled if the remaining term does not exceed six months, unless the vacant seats exceed five seats. 2- A Municipal Council member shall be deemed to have resigned from the Council if he submits his candidacy application for parliamentary elections.
