Article 5 of Municipality Law

The Constitutional Court shall have jurisdiction to hear electoral challenges submitted concerning Municipal Council elections. Every voter may request the annulment of the election held in his electoral constituency, and every candidate may request this in the constituency in which he was a candidate. The application shall be submitted to the Constitutional Court within fifteen days of announcement of the election result; otherwise, the application shall be deemed inadmissible. The Court shall hear these challenges in accordance with the procedures prescribed for hearing challenges submitted in National Assembly elections. A member whose election is challenged may attend the Municipal Council’s sessions and participate in its activities until judgment is issued on the challenge concerning him. A judgment annulling the election shall not have retroactive effect.
