Article 40 of Social Insurance Law

If the injury prevents the insured person from performing his work, payment of his salary shall be suspended, provided that Home Page Law Index 838 Social Insurance Law Amiri Order by Law No. 61 of 1976 Promulgating the Social Insurance Law the Institution shall pay him, during his absence from work because of it, financial assistance equivalent to that salary. The insured person's service may not be terminated during this period. The employer shall bear the salary for the day of injury, whatever the time at which it occurred. The assistance shall be paid weekly or monthly in accordance with the injured person's salary payment system, or at the end of the treatment period if it is shorter than a week or a month, as the case may be. It shall not be paid for weekly rest days if they are unpaid. Payment of the assistance shall continue until the date the injured person returns to work, disability is established, or death occurs, whichever is earliest. The Institution may suspend payment of the assistance if the injured person violates the treatment instructions, and it shall resume as soon as he follows it.
