Article 485 of Commercial Code

1 - Every person liable against whom a claim on a bill of exchange has been made by way of recourse, or who is liable to such a claim, may, upon making payment, request delivery of the bill of exchange together with the protest and a receipt for what he has paid. 2 - Every endorser who has paid the bill of exchange may strike out his endorsement and subsequent endorsements.
