Article 111 of Kuwaiti Penal Code

Anyone who disseminates, by one of the public means specified in Article 101, opinions involving ridicule, contempt or belittlement of a religion or religious denomination, whether by attacking its beliefs, observances, rituals or teachings, shall be punished by imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year and a fine not exceeding and seventy-five dinars, or either of these two penalties. Article 112 (1) There shall be no crime if research into a religion or religious denomination is disseminated in a lecture, article or scholarly book in a calm, balanced manner free of provocative expressions, and the researcher's good faith is established by his orientation toward purely scholarly criticism.
