Article 202 of Kuwaiti Penal Code

Anyone, male or female, who depends for his livelihood wholly or partly on what a person earns from practising debauchery and prostitution, through his influence over that person, control over that person or inducement of that person to practise debauchery, whether he obtains the person's money with that person's consent and without consideration or obtains it as a levy in return for protection or for refraining from interference, shall be punished by imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years and a fine not exceeding one hundred and fifty dinars, or either of these two penalties. (2) The Article was ruled unconstitutional in Case No. 5 of 2021 insofar as it criminalized the wording (imitating the opposite sex in any manner whatsoever). Law Index 139 Home Page Kuwaiti Penal Code Law No. 16 of 1960 Promulgating the Penal Code and its Amendments Article 203 (1) Any person who establishes or manages premises for debauchery and prostitution, or assists in any manner whatsoever in their establishment or management, shall be punished by imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years and a fine not exceeding seven thousand dinars. Article 204 (2) Anyone who publicly incites the practice of debauchery and prostitution in a public place shall be punished by imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years and a fine not exceeding three thousand dinars, or either of these two penalties. The preceding penalties shall be imposed on anyone who prints, sells, distributes or displays pictures, drawings, models or anything offending modesty. There shall be no offence if the statements are made, or the writing, drawings or pictures are published, in a manner recognized by science or art, with the intention of contributing to scientific or artistic progress.
