Article 44 of Traffic Law

Any member of the police force may arrest anyone who commits any of the following acts: 1. Driving a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants, narcotics or psychotropic substances. 2. Causing a traffic accident resulting in injury to or death of a person. 3. Participating in a motor vehicle race on roads without a permit or in violation of the permit. 4. Attempting to flee upon causing an accident prejudicing the safety of an individual, or upon failing to comply with an order to stop issued by members of the police force. 5. Driving a motor vehicle recklessly or negligently or using it in a manner endangering the lives or property of the driver or others. 6. Exceeding the maximum speed limit by more than 50 km/h. 7. Driving vehicles (buggies) in places not designated for them. 8. Driving a motor vehicle without a driving licence, or where its withdrawal or suspension of validity has been decided, or with a licence that does not permit driving such a vehicle, or without a permit required by this Law or its Executive Regulations. 9. Driving a vehicle without its plates issued by the General Traffic Department. 10. Passing a red traffic light. 11. Using a vehicle for a purpose other than that designated for it. 12. Using a vehicle to transport passengers for hire without a permit. (2)
