Article 6 of Family Court Law

The n Family Court having territorial jurisdiction to hear the first action brought before it by either spouse shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear all personal status actions subsequently brought by either of them against the other, including actions for maintenance, remuneration and the like, whether for the wife, children or relatives, and actions concerning custody of a minor, visitation with the minor, taking the minor into one's care, and the minor's custody accommodation. Upon the filing of the first action, a family file shall be allocated at the registry of the aforementioned court, in which the papers of that action and the papers of all other personal status actions subsequently filed and concerning the same family shall be deposited. An office for the administration of Sharia notarizations shall be attached to each Family Court, and a decision organizing it shall be issued by the Minister of Justice.
