Article 2 of Anti-Human Trafficking Law

Without prejudice to any more severe penalty provided for in another law, any person who engages in trafficking in persons in the manner specified in Article 1 of this Law shall be punished by imprisonment for fifteen years. The penalty shall be life imprisonment if the offence is accompanied by any of the following circumstances: 1 - If it is committed through an organized criminal group and the accused contributed to its establishment, organization or management, assumed leadership in it or joined it knowing its purposes. 2 - If the offence is of a non-national character. - If the perpetrator is the victim's spouse, one of his ascendants or descendants, or has authority over him. 4 - If the offence is committed by two or more persons or by a person carrying a visible or concealed weapon. h - If the offence results in grievous harm to the victim or a permanent disability. 6 - If the accused is a public official in the State or in one of the States in which the offence was committed or prepared, or in which some of its effects occurred, and his office played a role in facilitating the commission or completion of the offence. - If the victim is a child, a female or a person with special needs. The penalty shall be death if the commission of the offence results in the victim's death.
