Article 50 of Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Law

The licensee shall submit to the Authority an annual report setting out the available technical or administrative and financial aspects that ensure the provision of the licensed service to beneficiaries at the required standard. Article 51 (1) Telephone calls and private communications are considered confidential matters whose sanctity may not be violated, and they may not be subjected to surveillance by any means whatsoever except after obtaining permission from the competent judicial authority. The Public Prosecution may, whenever the interests of the investigation of a crime so require, issue an order to trace the source of the waves, and may enlist specialists from the Authority to perform that work, provided that this is under its supervision. The investigator may assign police officers to listen to that source and record it to convey its wording to him. The order must include a clear identification of the wave whose source is to be traced, and that order shall not continue for a period exceeding what the necessity of the investigation requires.
