Article 11 of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 concerning Kuwaiti Nationality

A Kuwaiti shall lose nationality if he voluntarily acquires a foreign nationality by naturalization. His Kuwaiti wife shall not lose her nationality unless she acquires his nationality. His minor children shall lose their Kuwaiti nationality if they acquire their father's new nationality under the law governing that nationality. They may notify the Minister of Interior of their choice of Kuwaiti nationality during the two years following their attainment of the age of majority. By a decision of the Council of Ministers upon the submission of the Minister of Interior, Kuwaiti nationality may be restored to a person who lost it pursuant to the preceding paragraph if he lawfully resides in Kuwait for at least one year, requests restoration of Kuwaiti nationality and relinquishes the foreign nationality. In this case, he shall be considered to have recovered Kuwaiti nationality from the date of approval by the Council of Ministers.
