Article 38 of Decree of 1979 concerning the Civil Service Regulations

Periodic leave shall be granted only upon a request from the employee and within the limits of the employee's balance of such leave, and the employee may not take periodic leave until notified of its approval. The employee must return to work immediately upon the expiry of the leave, and it may not be extended except upon a request (1) The Article is repealed pursuant to Law No. 63 of 1986 Index of the Law 799 Home Page Civil Service Regulations Decree of 1979 concerning the Civil Service Regulations from the employee and notification to the employee of approval before the expiry of the leave. The government entity may not postpone periodic leave, shorten it, or interrupt it after it has commenced except for reasons required by the interests of the work.
