Article 40 of Decree of 1979 concerning the Civil Service Regulations

Upon termination of his service, the employee shall be entitled to a cash allowance for the balance of his unused periodic leave, not exceeding one hundred and eighty days, calculated on the basis of the last salary he received, and any excess shall lapse. If he is reinstated in service before the expiry of the period for which he received the cash allowance, he shall repay the portion of that allowance corresponding to the remaining period, and that period shall be added to his leave balance.
