Travel ban. A preservatory or interim measure to prevent the debtor from fleeing before the creditor obtains an enforceable instrument. Its continuation until the debtor’s obligation to the creditor is extinguished. Its lapse in the cases set out in Article 298 of the Civil Procedure Law. - The element of urgency. Not required for an application for a travel ban. The challenged judgment’s departure from this by treating a grievance against an order banning the debtor from travel as an urgent matter and consequently ruling that the right of appeal had lapsed because its notice was filed with the court registry more than fifteen days after the date of issuance of the appealed judgment, whereas the notice was filed within thirty days of the date of issuance of that judgment. This vitiates it with an error in the application of the law and necessitates its cassation.
