English translation
Payment of the debt, its novation, set-off, merger, or release shall not be effective against the pledgee except with his approval. Nor shall any modification of the debt liable to prejudice him be effective against him except with his acceptance.

لا يسري الوفاء بالدين أو تجديده أو المقاصة به أو اتحاد الذمة فيه أو الإبراء منه
في مواجهة الدائن المرتهن إلا بإقراره. كما لا يسري في مواجهته أي تعديل في الدين
