If the investigation requires the accused's continued detention beyond the period provided for in the preceding article, his detention may be extended only by an order of the court competent to hear the merits, upon the investigator's request and after hearing the accused's statements and reviewing the investigation conducted. الســابقة، لم يجــز مــد حبســه إلا بأمــر مــن المحكمــة المختصــة بنظــر الموضــوع بنــاء على
طلــب المحقــق، وبعــد سماع أقــوال المتهــم والاطلاع على مــا تــم في التحقيــق. ويكــون
أمــر المحكمــة بالتجديــد لمــدة ثلاثين يومــا في كل مــرة بحــد أقصى ســتة أشــهر في قضايــا
