Article 6 of Juveniles Law

The juvenile shall be handed over to the person responsible for his care. If none of them is fit to undertake his upbringing, he shall be handed over to a trustworthy person from among his relatives or others who undertakes to raise him and ensure his good conduct and behaviour, or to a trustworthy family whose head undertakes to do so. If the juvenile has property or there is a person legally obliged to maintain him, and a request is made by the person to whom it has been adjudged Law Index 341 Home Page Juveniles Law Law No. 111 of 2015 concerning Juveniles to hand him over for maintenance to be determined for him, the court must specify in the handover judgment the amount to be collected from the juvenile's property or the amount to be imposed on the person responsible under Sharia for his maintenance, after notifying him of the scheduled hearing, and the dates for payment of maintenance. It shall be collected by the procedure prescribed in the Civil and Commercial Procedure Law. The judgment handing the juvenile over to a person other than the person obliged to maintain him shall be for a period not exceeding three years.
