Article 21 of Law on the General Department of Investigations

The detention of a member of the General Department of Investigations, whether in pretrial detention or pursuant to an order or judgment, shall necessarily entail his suspension from performing the duties of his office for the duration of his detention. The Minister of Interior may, on his own initiative or upon a submission by the Director-General of Investigations, order the suspension of a member of the General Department of Investigations from performing the duties of his office during proceedings investigating a crime of which he has been accused.
