Law Index 876 Home Page Disability Law Law No. 8 of 2010 concerning the Rights of Persons with Disabilities The Authority shall have a Supreme Council responsible for setting the Authority's general objectives and policies. This Council shall be formed under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Prime Minister or his delegate, with the membership of each of: 1 - The Minister of Social Affairs and Labour. 2 - The Minister of Health. 3 - The Minister of Education and the Minister of Higher Education. 4 - The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports. The Supreme Council shall include in its membership two representatives of public-benefit associations and clubs working in the field of disability, nominated by the boards of directors of those associations and clubs, and two persons possessing competence and experience in disability affairs. Nominees must have no financial interests with the Authority. They shall be appointed by decree upon a submission by the Chairman for a term of four years, renewable once for a similar term, and their remuneration shall be determined by a decision issued by the Council of Ministers. The Council shall issue internal regulations governing its working procedures and the manner of issuing its decisions. The Council shall hold at least two meetings a year. A Council meeting shall be valid only if attended by a majority of its members, including the Chairman or his deputy. The Director General of the Authority shall be the Council's rapporteur.
