Article 234 of Bankruptcy Law

If a creditor receives part of a debt from one of the persons liable for the same debt, and a decision opening proceedings is then issued in respect of the remaining obligors or one of them, the creditor may participate in the proceedings only for the remainder of his debt. He shall retain his right to claim that remainder from the obligor in respect of whose obligation no decision opening proceedings has been issued. That obligor may participate in the proceedings under this Law for what he paid on behalf of the debtor in respect of whom the decision opening proceedings was issued.
