Article 256 of Commercial Code

1- If the depositor does not recover the goods upon expiry of the deposit contract, the warehouse keeper may, after serving notice upon him, request their sale in accordance with the procedures stipulated in Articles 231 to 233 concerning commercial pledges. The warehouse keeper shall recover the amounts due to him from the sale proceeds and deliver the remainder to the depositor or deposit it in the court treasury. 2- The rule stipulated in the preceding paragraph shall apply if the deposit contract is of indefinite duration and one year has elapsed without the depositor requesting recovery of the goods or expressing his wish for the deposit contract to continue.
