Article 282 of Commercial Code

1 - If the contract is for a fixed term and the principal decides not to renew it upon expiry, he shall pay the agent fair compensation assessed by the judge, even if an agreement provides otherwise. 2 - Entitlement to this compensation is conditional upon: A - No fault or default having occurred on the agent's part during performance of the contract. B - The agent's activity having led to evident success in promoting the goods or increasing the number of customers. 3 - In assessing compensation, account shall be taken of the damage sustained by the agent and the benefit obtained by the principal from his efforts in promoting the goods or increasing customers.
