Article 409 of Commercial Code

1 - Interest on the amount stated in the bill of exchange may not be stipulated unless the bill of exchange is payable at sight or at a period after sight. 2 - The interest rate must be stated in the bill of exchange itself; otherwise, the stipulation shall be void. 3 - Interest shall accrue from the date of drawing up the bill of exchange unless another date is specified.
