Article 419 of Commercial Code

1 - The name of the possessor of the original must be stated on the copy of the bill of exchange, and the latter must deliver the original to the lawful holder of the copy. - If the possessor of the original refuses to deliver it, the holder of the copy shall have no right of recourse against its endorsers or guarantors by aval unless he establishes by protest that the original was not delivered to him upon his request. - If it is written on the original, following the last endorsement made before the copy was made, that henceforth endorsement shall be valid only on the copy, every endorsement subsequently written on the original shall be void.
