Article 515 of Commercial Code

1 - A cheque is not subject to acceptance, and if a statement of acceptance is written on the cheque, it shall be deemed unwritten. 2 - Nevertheless, the drawee may endorse the cheque to certify it, and this statement signifies the existence of funds for payment on the date of endorsement. 3 - The drawee may not refuse to certify the cheque if it holds funds for payment sufficient to pay its amount. 4 - The drawee’s signature on the face of the cheque shall constitute certification thereof.
