Article 551 of Commercial Code

1 - Where an action is brought, the limitation period prescribed in the preceding Article shall run only from the date of the last procedural step therein. 2 - The said limitation period shall not apply if a judgment is rendered for the debt or the debtor acknowledges it in a separate instrument by an acknowledgment resulting in novation of the debt.
