Article 550 of Commercial Code

1 - Actions of recourse by the holder of a cheque against the drawee, drawer, endorser, and other obligors shall be time-barred upon the lapse of six months from the expiry of the time limit for presentation of the cheque. 2 - Actions of recourse by the various persons liable for payment of the cheque against one another shall be time-barred upon the lapse of six months from the day on which the obligor paid or from the day on which a judicial claim was made against him. - Notwithstanding expiry of the limitation period, defendants shall substantiate by oath their discharge from the debt if requested to swear it, and their heirs or other successors shall swear that they do not know that their predecessor died while indebted.
