Article 179 of Kuwaiti Penal Code

Anyone who abducts a person who is insane, mentally deficient or under eighteen full years of age, without force, threat or deception, shall be punished by imprisonment for a term not less than seven years and not exceeding fifteen years. If the abduction is intended to kill the victim, inflict harm upon him, have sexual intercourse with him, indecently assault him, induce him to engage in prostitution or extort something from him or another person, the penalty shall be life imprisonment. However, if the person who abducted the victim is one of his parents and either of them establishes his good faith and his belief that he has the right to custody of his child, he shall not be punished. )3(
