Article 196 of Kuwaiti Penal Code

The male partner of an adulterous wife and the female partner of an adulterous husband shall, if each knows or is able to know that the person with whom he or she committed adultery is married, be punished by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years and a fine not exceeding 225 dinars, or by either of these penalties. This spouse may halt the proceedings at any stage, and may also halt enforcement of the final judgment by consenting to the continuation of married life. If the aggrieved spouse prevents the institution of criminal proceedings, halts the proceedings, or halts enforcement of the final judgment, the provisions of Article 194 shall not apply. - Indecent Act Offending Modesty Article 198 (2) Anyone who makes an indecent gesture or commits an indecent act in a public place, or in such a manner as to be seen or heard by anyone in a public place, or imitates the opposite sex in any form, shall be punished by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 1 year and a fine not exceeding 1,000 dinars, or by either of these penalties.
