Article 66 of Private Sector Labour Law

Without prejudice to the provisions of Articles (21) and (64) of this Law, a worker may, by a written order of the employer, be employed for an additional period if necessary to prevent a dangerous accident, repair its consequences, avert a certain loss, or deal with work exceeding the daily amount. Overtime hours may not exceed two hours in a single day, with a maximum of one hundred and eighty hours annually. Overtime periods may also not exceed three days weekly and ninety days a year. This shall not preclude the worker's right to prove, by all means of proof, the employer's assignment to him of overtime work for an additional period, or the worker's right to receive wages for the overtime period exceeding his ordinary wage for the equivalent period by 25 percent. The provisions of Article (56) of this Law shall be observed in respect of this wage. The employer shall keep a special overtime register showing the dates of the days and the number of additional hours for the wages corresponding to the overtime work assigned to the worker.
