Article 67 of Private Sector Labour Law

English translation

The worker has the right to paid weekly rest, fixed at twenty-four consecutive hours following every six working days. The employer may, when necessary, require the worker to work on his weekly rest day if work circumstances so require, and the worker shall receive at least 50 percent of his original wage and shall be compensated for his rest day with another rest day. The provision of the preceding paragraph shall not prejudice the calculation of the worker’s entitlement, including his daily wage and his leave, as this entitlement shall be calculated by dividing his salary by the number of actual working days, without including his weekly rest days, notwithstanding that these rest days are paid.
