Without prejudice to the provision of Article Six of this Law, a trainee lawyer must, after enrolment in Roll No. (a), join the office of a practising lawyer. He must notify the Admissions Committee, by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, of the name and address of the lawyer whose office he has joined and attach the lawyer’s approval to the notification. This procedure must be completed within a maximum period of six months from the date of his enrolment; otherwise, the enrolment shall be deemed as if it had not existed. If he is unable to join a lawyer’s office, the Admissions Committee shall, by a decision, designate the office he is to join. The owner of that office may not refuse without an acceptable excuse. In all cases, a trainee lawyer may change the office he has joined, provided that he notifies the Admissions Committee thereof. A trainee lawyer may not open an office in his own name, practise law for his own account, or sign statements of claim or papers that the law requires to be signed by a lawyer. He is also prohibited from using his professional title without coupling it with the fact that he is a trainee.
