Article 56 of Code of Civil Procedure

A power of attorney for litigation confers upon the agent authority to perform the acts and procedures necessary to bring and pursue the action or defend it, to take conservatory measures until judgment on its merits is issued at the level of litigation for which he was appointed, to serve that judgment, and to collect fees and expenses, without prejudice to matters for which the law requires special authorization.
