Article 33 مكرر of Traffic Law

Without prejudice to the measures prescribed in this Law or any more severe penalty in any other law, anyone who commits any of the following acts shall be punished by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year and not exceeding three years and a fine not exceeding one thousand dinars and not less than six hundred dinars, or either of these two penalties: 1. Passing a red traffic light. 2. Driving a vehicle recklessly or negligently, endangering the lives or property of the driver or others. 3. Conducting a motor vehicle race on the road without a permit or in violation of the permit, or conducting a gathering of motor vehicles to use them recklessly or negligently, or using them in a manner endangering the lives or property of the driver or others. 4. Exceeding the prescribed maximum speed limit. 5. Driving vehicles (buggies) and cycles in places other than those designated for them. 6. Driving a vehicle against the direction of traffic on expressways and ring roads. 7. Driving an unlicensed motor vehicle, or without its plates, or with its plates issued to it by the General Traffic Department with some or all of the numbers altered, or with plates not issued by the General Traffic Department bearing the original plate numbers or bearing different numbers. 8. Using a motor vehicle to transport passengers for hire without a permit. 9. Parking in places designated for persons with disabilities. 10. Carrying out excavations or works on the road, making an alteration thereto, or placing objects causing obstruction of traffic without a special permit from the General Traffic Department. The court may, of its own motion or at the request of the Ministry of Interior, order confiscation of the motor vehicle for the benefit of the Ministry of Interior if it convicts an accused who committed any of the acts set out in this Article, provided that the power to dispose of the aforementioned vehicle shall devolve upon the department concerned at the Ministry of Interior, without prejudice to the provisions of the aforementioned Penal Code or third parties acting in good faith.
