Article 27 of Press and Publications Law

Without prejudice to any more severe penalty provided for by another law, the editor-in-chief and the article writer or author shall be punished: Index of the Law 525 Home Page Printing and Publishing Law Law No. 3 of 2006 Concerning Printing and Publishing 1 - If what is prohibited in Article 19 is published in the newspaper, by imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year and a fine of not less than five thousand dinars and not exceeding twenty thousand dinars, or either of these two penalties. 2 - If what is prohibited in Article 20 is published in the newspaper, by a fine of not less than five thousand dinars and not exceeding twenty thousand dinars. - If what is prohibited in Article 21 is published in the newspaper, by a fine of not less than three thousand dinars and not exceeding ten thousand dinars. 4 - A fine of not less than one thousand dinars and not exceeding three thousand dinars shall be imposed for every other violation of the provisions of Chapter Two of this Law. In any of the preceding cases, the criminal court may order cancellation of the licence or suspension of the newspaper for a period not exceeding one year, confiscation of the published issue, seizure and destruction of the copy and the original medium on which it is fixed, and closure of the printing press used for printing.
