Article 53 of Judicial Organisation Law

The Public Prosecution shall exercise the powers vested in it by law and shall have the right to institute and conduct criminal proceedings, without prejudice to the provision of Article 9 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and Trials or any other provision of law.
