Article 67 of Judicial Organisation Law

The Ministry of Justice shall appoint a sufficient number of employees to work in financial, administrative, and clerical affairs at the courts and the Public Prosecution, and the Minister of Justice shall issue the decisions necessary to organize these affairs. Subject to Article )61( of the Civil Service Regulations, the presidents of the courts and the Public Prosecutor shall have authority, with respect to the employees subordinate to each of them who occupy positions in the general, technical support, and auxiliary job groups, to impose all disciplinary penalties except dismissal from service and demotion, for which a decision shall be issued by the Minister of Justice. Except as mentioned in the preceding two paragraphs, the provisions prescribed in the Civil Service Law and Regulations shall apply to employees working in the courts and the Public Prosecution. The provisions of Law No. 10/96 amending certain provisions of Decree-Law No. 23/90 concerning the organization of the judiciary also included a fourth article, the text of which is as follows: Fourth Article: The expression “Supreme Judiciary,” wherever it appears in the aforementioned Law on the Organization of the Judiciary in another law, or regulation, shall be replaced by the expression “Supreme Judicial Council.”
