Article 168 of Environmental Protection Law

The Director General of the Authority—and what the Supreme Council decides in relation to the relevant administrative entities—shall designate the employees necessary to carry out the inspection work required for implementation of this Law and the regulations and decisions pertaining to it, except Chapter One of Part Four thereof, and to record offences committed in violation of its provisions. These employees shall have the status of judicial enforcement officers. For that purpose, they may enter all places where these offences occur, draw up reports, take samples, conduct the necessary measurements, studies and other activities to determine the extent and sources of environmental pollution and verify the application of the rules and requirements for protecting workers and the environment, inspect licences, registers and any other documents and obtain copies thereof, request the necessary information from employers or their representatives in accordance with what is specified by the Executive Regulation of this Law, and seize everything they find in violation of the provisions of this Law. They may also seek assistance from police officers if necessary. )2(
