Article 70 of Decree of 1979 concerning the Civil Service Regulations

Disciplinary penalties imposed on an employee shall be expunged upon the expiry of the following period without any disciplinary penalty being imposed: Six months in the case of a warning. Six in the case of deduction from salary for a period not exceeding one week. Two years in the case of deduction from salary for a period exceeding one week. Three years in the case of reduction of salary by one quarter for a period of not less than three months and not exceeding twelve months. Four years in the case of demotion. The penalty of admonition or reprimand imposed on holders of positions in the leadership positions group shall also be expunged upon the expiry of three years. Expungement shall be by a decision of the authority competent to impose the penalty, and expungement of the penalty shall entail Law Index 804 Home Page Civil Service Regulations Decree of 1979 concerning the Civil Service Regulations its being deemed never to have existed for the future. Ninth: Termination of Service Article 71 (1) Service shall terminate for one of the following reasons: 1 - Resignation. 2 - Non-renewal of appointment to a leadership position. - Referral to retirement. 4 - Dismissal by a disciplinary decision. h - Repealed 6 - Sentencing to a penalty restricting liberty for a felony or an offence involving dishonour or breach of trust. The Minister may retain the employee where a judgment suspending execution of the penalty is issued. 7 - Loss or withdrawal of Kuwaiti nationality. - Medical unfitness for service or exhaustion of sick leave, whichever is earlier. 9 - Attainment of the age of sixty-five for Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis. Mosque imams, preachers and muezzins, washers of the dead, doctors, medical professions, members of teaching and training staff at government universities and government applied institutes, and scientific researchers at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research are excepted from this; their service shall terminate upon attaining the age of seventy-five, in accordance with the rules and provisions laid down by the Civil Service Council. 10 - Death.
