English translation of the principle

The contract is the law of the contracting parties; neither may unilaterally rescind it or amend its provisions except within the limits permitted by the agreement or the law. The effect of the contract is confined to its parties. The rights arising from it and the obligations generated by it extend only to its contracting parties and their universal successors. They may not create an obligation incumbent upon a third party under it. - The transfer-of-debt contract between the original debtor and the transferee debtor. It is not effective against the creditor unless he approves it. The burden of proving the existence of the transfer or the creditor’s approval thereof rests on the original debtor. Example.
