Judicial principle — Kuwait Court of Cassation

Kuwait Court of Cassation principle number 826

State of Kuwait · Pleadings — Part One · Ministry of Justice — Court of Cassation — Technical Office

English translation of the principle

The legislature's establishment of a single Personal Status Circuit in the competent courts to hear its disputes does not prevent their general assemblies from establishing more than one circuit to hear them and assigning each jurisdiction over a particular type of those disputes. Adjudication by any of those circuits of a dispute falling within the jurisdiction of another circuit. No violation therein of the rules of subject-matter jurisdiction. The reason therefor. This division is an internal arrangement.
