English translation
1 - In contracts binding on both parties, if performance of either party's obligation becomes impossible for an extraneous cause beyond his control, that obligation shall be extinguished, together with the corresponding obligations of the other party, and the contract shall be dissolved automatically. 2 - If the impossibility is partial, the creditor may, according to the circumstances, uphold the contract as to what remains capable of performance or seek rescission of the contract.

١ - في العقود الملزمة للجانبين، إذا أصبح تنفيذ التزام أحد الطرفين مستحيلاً لسبب
أجنبي لا يد له فيه ، انقضى هذا الالتزام وانقضت معه الالتزامات المقابلة على
الطرف الآخر وانفسخ العقد من تلقاء نفسه .
٢ - فإن كانت الاستحالة جزئية، كان للدائن، بحسب الأحوال، أن يتمسك بالعقد فيما
