Article 319 of Civil Code

1 - The retaining party shall preserve the thing and render an account of its yield. 2 - If the retained thing is feared to perish or deteriorate, the retaining party may obtain the court's permission to sell it in accordance with procedures determined by the court. In urgent cases, he may sell it without the court's permission, and the right of retention shall pass from the thing to its price.
