English translation
If the debtor is obliged to pay, together with the debt, expenses and compensation for delay in payment, and the amount he pays is insufficient to cover all of these, the amount paid shall be applied first to expenses, then to compensation for delay in payment, and then to the principal debt, unless otherwise agreed.

إذا كان المدين ملزما بأن يوفي مع الدين مصروفات وتعويضات عن التأخير في
الوفاء وكان ما أداه لا يفي بذلك جميعه, خصم ما أدى من المصروفات ثم من
التعويضات عن التأخير في الوفاء ثم من أصل الدين ما لم يوجد اتفاق على غير
