English translation
If an action concerning the debt is barred by lapse of time when set-off is invoked, that shall not prevent set-off from taking place so long as the period required to bar the hearing of the action had not elapsed at the time when set-off became possible.

إذا كان الدين لا تسمع به الدعوى لمرور الزمان وقت التمسك بالمقاصة فإن ذلك
لا يمنع من وقوع المقاصة ما دامت المدة اللازمة لعدم سماع الدعوى لم تكن قد
