English translation
A person accused of a felony has the right to retain someone to defend him, and the court shall appoint a lawyer to perform this task if the accused has not retained anyone. A person accused of a misdemeanour, and other litigants, always have the right to retain someone to appear with them.

للمتهم في جناية الحق في ان يوكل من يدافع عنه، وعلى المحكمة ان تنتدب من
المحامين من يقوم بهذه المهمة إذا لم يوكل المتهم احدا وللمتهم في جنحة، ولغيره
