Article 158 of Code of Criminal Procedure and Trials

English translation

The accused may not be administered an oath, nor coerced or induced by any means to answer or to make particular statements. The accused's silence or refusal to answer a question shall not be interpreted as an admission of anything, and he may not be held accountable for that. He may not be punished for perjury in respect of statements he makes in his own defense. However, the court may draw from the accused's refusal to answer, or from his incorrect answer, such inferences as it sees fit.
