Article 160 of Code of Criminal Procedure and Trials

If the offence is punishable by imprisonment for a period exceeding seven years or by a more severe penalty, more than one person participated in its commission, and the investigation is in need of sufficient evidence against them or some of them, the Chief of Police and Public Security may, at the request of the Public Prosecution, grant a pardon to any person believed to have a connection with the offence, even if accused of committing it, on condition that he provides information sufficient to arrest the other accused persons, and that he provides all evidence in his possession that assists in convicting them. In this case, the accused shall be considered a witness, but shall not take an oath. He may remain detained pending the case. The pardon shall become effective and binding if the accused fulfils these conditions in good faith and provides substantial assistance to the investigation. In this case, no criminal action shall be brought against him.
