Article 44 of Code of Criminal Procedure and Trials

When a police officer conducts inquiries, if he finds that it is necessary to search a particular person or dwelling, he must submit the inquiries to the investigator. The investigator may, if satisfied that necessity requires authorising the search, authorise him in writing to conduct it. The person conducting the search must submit the record and the result of the search to the investigator immediately upon its completion. The police officer has the right to seize movables connected with the crime while conducting the search or inquiries.
