Article 299 of Personal Status Law

a - The husband has a fixed share of one-half in the absence of a child and a son's child, however far down the line of descent, and one-quarter where there is a child or a son's child, however far down the line of descent. b - The wife, even if revocably divorced where the husband dies while she is observing the waiting period, or the wives, have a fixed share of one-quarter in the absence of a child and a son's child, however far down the line of descent, and one-eighth where there is a child or a son's child, however far down the line of descent. A woman irrevocably divorced during the death illness is treated as a wife if she did not consent to the divorce and the divorcing husband dies during that illness while she is observing his waiting period, provided that her eligibility to inherit continues from the time of divorce until the time of death.
